What is a Bridging Visa F (BVF)?

The Bridging visa F (BVF) subclass 060 visa is used exclusively for suspected victims of trafficking or slavery who do not hold a substantive visa. The visa can be granted for up to 45 days, but can be renewed for another 45 days.

When to Apply a Bridging Visa F?

The Minister have issued a notice in writing advising that the person is required in Australia to assist in the administration of criminal justice for human-tracking and/or slavery, and that satisfactory arrangements have been made to meet the cost of keeping them in Australia.

The form will then be given to the Applicant.

What Conditions Do Bridging Visa F Contain?

Any of the following four conditions may be imposed on the BVF:

  • No work

  • Must report at certain times to the Office of Immigration

  • Continue to live at the address specified by the holder

  • Notify the Immigration at least 2 working days before any change in address

However, under policy, none of these conditions are generally imposed.

When will Bridging Visa F Expire?

The Bridging Visa F subclass 060 can be valid for:

  • up to 45 days; or

  • until a specific date decided by the Minister; or

  • 28 days after the notice is revoked.
