Increased Refusals of Chinese Visitors
Some statistics have recently been published:
An average of 77 people made protection claims after landing at an Australian airport.
27% of asylum seekers were from Malaysia, 17% were from China, 14% from India, 5% from Thailand and 4$ from Vietnam.
Of these, 0.74% were approved from Malaysia and 4% from China.
The queue of applications is outnumbered by the increasing number of applications each day.
As a result, visitor visa applications are being heavily scrutinized. General tourist visa grant rates have fallen from 95.6% in June 2017 to 88.6% in June 2019.
