Am I Eligible for Training (Subclass 407) Visa?

You may be eligible to apply for the Training Visa (Subclass 407) to work in Australia.
Age Requirement
Applicants are required to be:
18 years old or above.
Unless you are exempted from this qualification, there is no workaround to this, as this visa is for those who want to improve their skills for their job, which would require being in a legal age.
Sponsorship and Nomination for Training visa (subclass 407)
When an Australian organisation has expressed interest to sponsor you for a Subclass 407 visa application, they must be an approved Temporary Activities Sponsor first to qualify.
Meanwhile, unless your sponsor is a Commonwealth Government agency, then you must be nominated, or if it is a Commonwealth Government agency, then you must be invited first before you can qualify for this work visa.
Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) for Training (subclass 407) Visa
Although you are permitted to leave and re-enter Australia while your visa is valid, keep in mind that the subclass 407 training visa is only temporary. You must be able to demonstrate that you will not, in any way, use this to extend your stay in Australia.
Documentary evidence or any information that might prove that you don’t intend to stay in the country for too long, like an employment certificate, may be used for this one, including:
Evidence that the training programme meets the nomination types.
Evidence of assessment of learning outcomes from the trainees, if the organisation has already previously sponsored.
Immigration history of the sponsor.
ANZSCO classification of sponsor where the occupational training will be undertaken, if applicable.
Health and Character Requirement for Subclass 407 Visa
Upon entering Australia, you must be of good character to be able to visit or live within the country. In order to pass the character requirement, you must not have a substantial criminal record, such as convicted of escaping from immigration detention or convicted for an offence in an immigration detention.
For health requirements, applicants may be required to undertake relevant medical examinations and/or chest X-rays to ensure that they do not carry diseases that may be a threat to Australia’s public health.
Financial and Insurance Security Requirement for Training Visa (SC 407)
Applicants and holders of a Subclass 407 work visa would be financially responsible for any debts they incur in Australia, including health care for themselves and accompanying family members.
As the Training (Subclass 407) visa is a temporary visa, holders do not have access to Medicare. So, they must be able to demonstrate upon application that they have the financial capacity and backup to afford any medical and paramedical health care they need throughout their stay in Australia.
Evidence of financial backup may include the following:
Salary to be earned in Australia to cover all expenses throughout the entire stay, and return fare back to home country
Living expenses to be assumed by the sponsor or third parties that would provide the applicant or holder’s accommodation, meals, allowances, etc., or evidence of other family members who will work
Evidence of money in a bank account bearing the name of the applicant or a close family member for at least six (6) months prior to the application date
Evidence of financial support from the government
A loan from a financial institution in the name of the applicant.
Training Program Provisions
Other requirements and conditions may be stipulated in your visa, so you have to make sure that you thoroughly check any attachments to your visa grant to be able to meet all of them.
