Australia Work and Holiday Visa Ballots Open for Citizens of China, India and Vietnam
The Department of Home Affairs (DoHA) introduced a pre-application process (visa ballot) as part of the Working Holiday Maker (WHM) program for the following high-demand Work and Holiday (subclass 462) Visa countries:
China
India
Vietnam
What is the Working Holiday Maker (WHM) Pre-Application Ballot Program?
This ballot system is designed to ensure a fair, efficient, and transparent method to randomly select applicants from countries where demand exceeds the available places in the program. The registration fee is AUD 25. Applicants must still meet all the standard eligibility requirements for the subclass 462 visa to be granted entry into Australia.
When does the Working Holiday Maker (WHM) Program Commence?
The Working Holiday Maker (WHM) program is open for registration for applicants from China, India and Vietnam for the first Work and Holiday (Subclass 462) visa on 1 October 2024.
How do I register for the Working Holiday Maker (WHM) Program?
To register for your country's ballot you must:
Have an ImmiAccount
Be aged 18 to 30 (inclusive) at the time of registration.
Holds a valid passport from an eligible participating country
Have a valid national identity card from an eligible country (this is the PAN card for Indian passport holders)
