Citizenship By Conferral No Longer Need to Complete Form 1195
The Citizenship by Conferral application no longer has a spot to upload form 1195. Form 1195 has been updated, and the 'Who should use this form' section now says that the form must be completed by those applying online for Australian citizenship by descent or evidence of Australian citizenship.
The Department has established that other citizenship pathways, such as those seeking citizenship by conferral, are no longer required to complete this form as part of their application.
What is Form 1195 for my Citizenship Application?
Form 1195, which is used for citizenship applications and proof of citizenship. The new form 1195 simplifies the picture-witnessing process. The witness is no longer necessary to write "this is a true photograph of (applicant's full name)" on the back of the photo. The witness only needs to sign the bottom corner of the front of the photo, making sure not to sign over the applicant's face, and attach it to the form, as seen in the image below:
