How to get the most out of your Migration Planning Session (MPS) Consultation with the Accredited Specialist?
Our Migration Planning Session (MPS) consultation with one of our Accredited Specialists runs for about 50 minutes to 1 hour. Their fee is AUD 660 (GST inclusive).
Part 1 of MPS – Information Gathering
The Accredited Specialist’s team member will commence the session by eliciting your information and accounting for facts relevant to your circumstances and migration objective. In which case, the time spent providing recommendations and strategies for two (2) matters might not be enough.
Eliciting will take approximately 15 minutes, depending on the complexity of the matter.
As the member of the team who will be executing part 1 of the session, the Accredited Specialist will usually need approximately 10-15 minutes before meeting with you to analyse the information gathered and identify the relevant issues of fact, law, and policy to distinguish realistic and unrealistic expectations and determine whether your problems are capable of resolution.
Part 2 of MPS – Analysis and Advice
In part 2 of the session, the responsible lawyer will advise you of his appraisal of your circumstances, including:
Available options and the pros and cons of each (including procedural requirements, time frames, and costs) and considering the law's dynamic nature.
To aid you in making a decision, the responsible lawyer will explain each option's legal and practical consequences, the advantages and disadvantages, and the extent to which each proposed option (as applicable) will achieve your objective.
After the MPS
The responsible lawyer may provide a written summary of the MPS. We urge you to take notes during the session to ensure you understand the advice.
If you need a written copy of the summary, you may incur an hourly fee, but the lawyer in charge may waive the charge.
