Permanent and temporary visa applicants are generally required to undergo specific health examinations. The requirements vary based on age and circumstances. 

What are the Types of Health Examination Requirements by Age?

Under 2 Years Old	Medical Examination
2 to Under 11 Years Old	Medical Examination
	Tuberculosis (TB) Screening Test (TST or IGRA) if from a higher risk country or applying for a refugee visa
11 to Under 15 Years Old	Medical Examination & Chest X-ray
15 Years Old and Older	Medical Examination
	Chest X-ray
	HIV Test
	Serum creatinine/eGFR
	Hepatitis B test if from a higher risk country

Are there Any Additional Tests Required?

15 years or older, intending to work as a doctor, dentist, nurse, or paramedic	Hepatitis B and C test
15 years or older, intending to work in healthcare, aged care, or disability care facility, from a higher risk country	Latent TB Infection screening test
