Latest Updates on the Coronavirus

To prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus, the Department of Home Affairs has imposed a number of changes and restrictions. The first restrictions were introduced on 01 February 2020 and a summary of this can be found in this article.

On 13 February 2020, it was announced that the travel restrictions would be renewed for a further 7 days from 15 February 2020 onwards. These restrictions will continue to be reviewed regularly and we expect a further update on or before 22 February 2020.

You can review the Department’s website for regular updates.

What does this mean?

Any foreign national (including all temporary visa holders) will not be allowed to enter Australia if they have left or transited through mainland China within the last 14 days. This also means that if anyone has managed to leave China, they may be allowed entry into Australia if they seek transit through a third country for at least 14 days.
