When Do I Need to Provide My English Test for My Visa Application?

Mapping out while gathering and compiling your documents for a visa application can be stressful and confusing. Hence, it is important to understand when you can provide your English test result without risking your visa application.

When Do I Provide My English Test?

It is advisable to provide your English test result at the time when you submit your visa application to ensure you meet the specific visa requirements. If you fail to provide your English test results at the time of lodging your visa application, your visa may be refused.

Additionally, some individuals may be eligible for English exemptions for specific visa subclasses.

For GSM visa such as subclasses 189, 190, and 491:

  • If you are claiming partner points, your partner must also have competent English at the time of invitation.

  • Additionally, ensure that your partner's and/or your English test is always within its validity. If your partner’s and/or your English test has expired before you receive the invitation, then you must retake the English test and update the new English test result in your Expression of Interest (EOI) as soon as possible.
