  • Applicants must live and work in the designated area or region once sponsored under the labour agreement pathway. 

  • Businesses that wish to employ and sponsor skilled workers through a labour agreement for skilled workers: 

    • The business must be operating for at least 12 months and have no adverse information

    • Firstly, the employers will need to apply for an endorsement through the Designated Area Representative (DAR) before requesting a labour agreement.  

    • The South-West DAR is through the Shire of Dardanup.  

    • Businesses can apply for endorsement and request a Labour Agreement without needing to identify a specific prospective worker. 

    • The employer is to obtain their own labour agreement that is valid for up to 5 years. 

    • Ensure that the Labour Market Testing (LMT) has been conducted for a minimum of 28 days.

  • The South-West DAMA has a list of 56 occupations that reflect skilled and semi-skilled roles required in the region. 

  • There are some concessions for the South-West DAMA that have been agreed on: 

    • English concession is available for a number of occupations. 

    • A CSIT (previously known as TSMIT) concession is available for some occupations. Employers seeking a CSIT concession must provide evidence. 

    • Age concession of 55 years old for skill level 1-4 occupations; and

    • Age concession of 50 years for skill level 5 occupations. 

    • Permanent Residence (PR) pathway may be available through the ENS (SC 186) visa.
