myVEVO App - Checking Your Visa Status Just Became Easier
It is always important to check your visa status. One way to be informed about your visa status is through the Visa Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO) system. Regularly checking your visa status can help you avoid unintended breaches of visa conditions, and with the introduction of the myVEVO app, this process is more convenient than ever!
Understanding VEVO
VEVO is an online service provided by the Department of Home Affairs that allows visa holders and/or their representatives to check the visa details and conditions.
Why is it Important to Check Your Visa Status Regularly?
Every visa comes with specific conditions that you have to follow, such as work rights, study limitations, travel permissions, and more. Checking your visa status regularly helps ensure that you remain compliant with these conditions to reduce the risk of breaching them, which could lead to a serious consequence, including a visa refusal or a visa cancellation.
For visa applicants who applied for a visa with a long processing time, such as a parent visa, knowing that their visa status is up to date can provide a sense of security and peace of mind. Ensure to check beforehand, especially if they are planning important events like travelling overseas or enrolling in a new educational program.
What is the myVEVO App?
The myVEVO app makes checking your visa status even easier. You can download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
When you launch the app for the first time, you will have to create a personal identification number (PIN) in the myVEVO app. This PIN will become your secure code to quickly access your visa details in the future.
Operating the myVEVO app is very similar to the online VEVO website. With its simplified interface, you will need to select your document type: Passport, ImmiCard, Document for Travel to Australia (DFTTA) or Titre de Voyage. Input the visa grant number or transaction reference number (TRN), date of birth, and document number, and select the document's country.
Once you accept the terms and conditions and submit the information, your visa status will be generated based on the visa details.
If you receive an error message, be sure to check that the entered details are accurate. If you cannot view the visa details, your visa may have expired, and you may not be holding a visa.
