What Are the Labour Agreements for Goulburn Valley, Victoria?

Similar to the other DAMAs, the Goulburn Valley's DAMA is a 5-year employer-sponsored visa program to partner with local businesses and the Australian government to find suitable skilled workers to address labour shortages in the specific region.

  • The Goulburn Valley's DAMA includes the following, and the postcodes are representative of main towns and not limited to: 

    • Greater Shepparton: 

      • Ardmona: 3629 

      • Grahamvale: 3631 

      • Lemnos: 3631  

      • Merrigum: 3618 

      • Mooroopna: 3629 

      • Shepparton: 3630  

      • Tatura: 3616 

    • Campaspe Shire: 

      • Echuca: 3564  

      • Kyabram: 3620 

      • Lockington: 3563

    • Moira Shire:

  • Applicant must live and work in the designated area mentioned above once being sponsored under the labour agreement pathway. 

  • Businesses who wish to employ and sponsor through labour agreements for skilled workers: 

    • The business must have no adverse information

    • Firstly, the employers will need to apply for an endorsement through the Designated Area Representative (DAR) before requesting for a labour agreement.  

    • The Goulburn Valley’s DAR is through the Greater Shepparton City Council.  

    • Initial endorsement for types of occupation allocation and number of vacancies are for the first year only. 

    • There is a processing fee to request an endorsement per worker, which is AUD 750 + GST

    • The employer is to obtain their own labour agreement that is valid for up to 5 years. 

    • Businesses are to apply to the DAR for a new endorsement each subsequent year for any business’s needs change (i.e., additional occupations or an increase in the number of nominations). 

    • Ensure that the Labour Market Testing (LMT) has been conducted for a minimum of 28 days. 

  • The Goulburn Valley's DAMA includes 56 occupations that reflect the skilled and semi-skilled roles required in the region. 

  • There are some concessions for the Goulburn Valley DAMA that have been agreed on and required to be applied for, which can be requested in the application. 

    • English concession for a number of occupations. 

    • A CSIT (previously known as TSMIT) concession is available for some occupations. To support this, a strong business case must be provided. 

    • Age concession of 50 - 55 years old, depending on the occupation. 

    • A permanent Residence (PR) pathway may be available through an ENS (SC 186) visa.
