The Medical Treatment visa (MTV) (Subclass 602) is a temporary visa for individuals to travel to Australia for medical treatment or to support a person receiving medical treatment. It is important to prepare the necessary documents required to have a smooth application process.  

 

Medical Treatment Visa (MTV) (SC 602) Document Checklist

Applicants must gather and prepare the documents listed below to meet the visa criteria. Below is a general guide and not limited to: 

  • Identity documents 

    • Passport 

    • National identity card (if you have one) 

  • Medical Evidence 

  • Financial Evidence 

    • Proof of Funds, such as bank statements 

    • Letters from any Australian who will be supporting you during your stay (if applicable) 

    • Letter from treating doctor (if applicable) 

    • Letter of payment arrangement from the hospital (if applicable) 

  • Health and Character 

    • Evidence of health insurance 

    • Police check (The Department may request)
