Northern Territory Government Stops Accepting Nominations for 2024-25

The Northern Territory (NT) Government has received enough nomination applications to completely fill the allocations for the 2024-2025 program year. Due to the large number of applications, the NT government has announced the suspension of its online nomination portal for accepting any new applications for the 2024-25 program year.

What Does The Suspension Mean for Applicants?

Applicants who have already submitted their applications before the suspension will continue to be assessed. Eligible applicants will still receive nominations. As for future applications, the program is expected to reopen once allocations are received for the 2025-26 program year.

Exceptions for Onshore Applicants

During this suspension period, certain exceptions apply for onshore applicants who meet specific visa deadlines before 1 July 2025:

  • Those with visas expiring before 1 July 2025 and who are not eligible for Temporary Graduate Visa (Subclass 485)

  • Applicants nearing the General Skill Migration (GSM) cutoff age of 45 years old before 1 July 2025 may be ineligible for the GSM program, such as turning 45 or losing points for age and bringing the total migration points to below 65.
