New Digital Process Guide to Preparing Statutory Declarations (Stat Dec) Online
The Australian government has introduced a more efficient way to prepare and complete the statutory declarations (stat dec) by allowing them to be completed digitally. This new method is designed to enhance convenience and accessibility, streamlining the process for individuals and organisations needing to sign and submit statutory declarations for your visa purposes.
What is a Statutory Declaration?
A statutory declaration is a legal document that allows individuals to affirm the truth of certain statements. It is often required to affirm residency or support applications for government services. Traditionally, these declarations were completed on paper, but the new introduction of digital statutory declarations makes the process much simpler.
What is the current process for Completing the Stat Dec?
There are 3 ways to make a Commonwealth statutory declaration.
