Nil VAC Subclass 600 Visa for Olympics & Paralympic Games 2032 Invitees and Pacific Australia Card Holders

The Australian government has introduced some changes to Visitor (Subclass 600) Visa applications through the Migration (Class of Persons for Nil VAC for Subclass 600 (Visitor) Visa Applications—Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games) Specification 2025 and the Migration (Class of Persons for Nil VAC for Subclass 600 (Visitor) Visa Applications—Pacific Australia Card Holders) Specification 2025.

What are the Changes for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games Invitees?

Effective 15 March 2025, primary applicants of the Subclass 600 visa in the Tourist and Business Visitor streams who receive invitations from the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organising Committee will be Nil VAC.

A Nil VAC means that the applicant does not need to pay the standard visa application charge (VAC) when applying for the Visitor (SC 600) visa.

What are the Changes for the Pacific Australia Card (PAC) Holders?

Similarly, individuals who are outside of Australia and hold a Pacific Australia Card (PAC) can be eligible for a Nil VAC for a Subclass 600 visa if they apply for either tourist or business visitor streams. This change will be effective from 22 March 2025 and will give easier access to Pacific Australia Card holders seeking to visit Australia.

These updates represent an opportunity for eligible individuals wanting to visit Australia, especially in light of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The introduction of a Nil VAC for both PAC holders and invitees associated with the Games is to enhance visitor access to Australia’s cultural and sporting events.
